“The Hidden Reason Cookies Stick to the Tray — And the Cleaning Method No One Told You About”
Share
I used to believe that oil or butter on a tray would always prevent sticking. I was wrong. One day I baked oatmeal cookies and they glued themselves to the tray so tightly that I spent 25 minutes scraping them off with a spatula. The tray looked clean, but a thin build-up of invisible residue caused the problem.
Over time, oils polymerize under heat and create a sticky film that soap alone can’t remove. What finally solved the issue was deep-cleaning with hot water, baking soda, and boiling vinegar. After soaking the tray for 15 minutes, the residue lifted off like magic.
Steps for perfect cleaning:
Sprinkle baking soda generously
Pour boiling vinegar water over it
Let it sit 10–15 minutes
Scrub gently and rinse with hot water
Ever since I started doing this once a month, nothing sticks anymore — and the tray looks brand new.
